All Church Prayer Meeting

October 21, 2018

5:00pm – 6:00pm

Category: Prayer | Coordinator: Brice Smith

Vision Statement:  We believe the love of God in Jesus changes everything.

Belong: Jesus changes the way we experience community.

We are a family that accepts people as they are.  Our family looks out for one another and encourages each other to be more like Jesus every day.   We take responsibility for one another and strive to help each other know the love of Jesus in all of life’s ups and downs.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:19-25 NIV)

  1. Prayer that the Holy Spirit would be present and at work in us and among us.

"My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. 34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

(John 13:33-35 NIV)

  1. Prayer that we would learn to love one another as Jesus has loved us.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

(Romans 15:5-7 NIV)

  1. Prayer that we would accept one another so that we can be one while celebrating our differences.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

(Galatians 5:13-14 NIV)

  1. Prayer that be a community that is open to serving and being served.

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

(1 Thessalonians 5:9-13 NIV)

  1. Prayer of encouragement for leaders, including prayer that they would model the kind of community that God wants us to develop.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

(Hebrews 10:19-25 NIV)

  1. Prayer that we would have the courage to spur one another on.

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

(Galatians 6:1-2 NIV)

  1. Prayer that we would become God’s agents of restoration and reconciliation.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

(James 5:16 NIV)

Prayer that we would be open about our brokenness with a desire to work together toward being whole.

  1. Prayer for the sick in our church.
